cobbling
Thailmore has graciously shared his cobbling experience and his
scripts! Below is his information regarding the scripts and what
they do. They do not check for errors when cobbling so if an
error occurs you may have to pause or stop the script, fix the error
and restart the script. Below Thailmore's information is how to
get started in cobbling!
.autocobble will get you mastered in cobbling. .cobble makes
actual shoes
script assumptions:
You have the materials for 9 sets of footwear (upper, lower, and trim)
kept in a backpack. Your pattern book is already turned to the
proper page for the footwear. You have measured someone for
footwear with the cord. Patternbook, chalk, measuring cord,
and cutting knife are in the STOW container. You are using
ready-made trim (i.e. bought from the cobbling supply store)
.autocobble will make a pair of the specified footwear, then throw it
away, and start again. 9 times.
You need to watch the script as it goes, because there isn't any error
control in it. Sometimes, when you're cobbling you might smudge
the chalk outlines and have to re-mark it, you might have to re-measure
with the cord, or the pattern you are using might crumble. If
anything like that happens you need to pause the script or end it.
cobble.txt will just make one pair, assuming that the required
materials are present.
When using .cobble the script does not finish out the footwear.
Once all the JOINing is done you must RUB the footwear twice to
complete the process. After the final JOIN, but before the RUBs,
the cobbler can tweak the appearance of the footwear as described in
the cobbling guide on the GS4 main site (open, close, flip, scratch,
whisper, pull, push, etc). I've left out the RUBs with this
script so that it can be used for making actual footwear instead of
just skill grinding pieces.
To use .cobble with trim that has to be measured and cut (custom trim
from a skinned critter), the trim needs to be prepared before the
script is run (pattern marked with chalk, and cut, etc).
